Clean water isn’t a luxury in West Michigan – it’s our birthright.
From the Great Lakes to inland streams to the wells families rely on every day, our water is central to our health, our economy, and our way of life. Too many communities are dealing with contamination, aging infrastructure, and corporate interests that treat our water like a resource to exploit instead of something precious to protect.
Families shouldn’t have to question whether their tap water is safe. Farmers and small businesses shouldn’t have to compete with polluters who cut corners. And taxpayers shouldn’t be stuck footing the bill when corporations walk away from environmental damage.
Kiel believes protecting our water is about protecting our families, our property values, and our future. As your state representative, he’ll fight to make sure Michigan’s water is safeguarded for the next generation – not sacrificed for short-term profit.
Kiel will:
Strengthen enforcement of environmental regulations and ensure corporations – not taxpayers – pay to clean up contamination.
Upgrade aging water and sewer infrastructure so communities can prevent contamination before it happens.
Expand testing support and transparency requirements, so families know exactly what’s in their water.
Protect our water from over-extraction and corporate water grabs by keeping it in public hands.
Support communities impacted by PFAS and other industrial contamination with state-level funding and long-term remediation plans.
